Product Description
After discussing the Patriot Act (and the history behind it), students are instructed to write an essay on the topic by relating it to a famous quote from Benjamin Franklin who said, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Students are asked if they support the Act, if they feel it is necessary for our safety, and whether or not they believe it violates anything in the Bill of Rights.

Instructions for the essay, guidelines for writing, and a rubric are included.
