This fun and engaging activity is a great way to review shape names, shape attributes, or even just introduce pattern blocks. (If you use Everyday Math, it's a perfect craftivity for lesson 1-2 Introduction to Pattern Blocks!)
Simply print the shapes (either in color or in black and white on colored paper), print the recipe template, and add paper plates! After reviewing shapes, students glue the shapes onto their pizza and then students count up how many shapes they used on their pizza to make their own recipe. For further extension, discuss which shape students used the most and least of on their pattern block shape pizza, how many more of a shape, and more!
