This is a basic introduction to identifying pattern units in repeating patterns. Students will identify the pattern unit from brightly colored "dots". They will be able to demonstrate their understanding by circling the pattern unit in each, and then writing the description of the unit. There are 10 patterns and one bonus activity where the students can show their creativity by creating a pattern of their own.
This activity can be used for whole group activities; on the SmartBoard or individually. I have provided the following:
-Answer key for the teacher
-Answer sheet for the students
