Patterns (Arithmetic, Multiplicative, Growing) Scoot/Task Cards
Materials needed: pencils, “scoot cards” and answer sheet.
Setup: Arrange desks and/or tables in whatever manner you desire. Many teachers will place them in a large, rectangular perimeter, with space between each desk. If you prefer, you can leave your current classroom setup, but just make sure your students know which way to move!
Directions: Set a “scoot” card on each desk. Students will start at their own desks and record the answer to the problem in the correct spot on the answer sheet. After 30 seconds, teacher says “scoot!” and children rotate in one direction and work on the next problem, recording their answer. Repeat! Scoot is over when students have returned to their own desks.
