Students are required to create growing patterns with toothpicks and pattern blocks, transfer the information to a table, and graph the data on a coordinate grid. Finally, students write an expression with a variable to describe the relationship between input & output (or x and y axis), for the growing pattern.
Adapted verion & original is included for differentiation.
