This activity is a great way to teach Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Model patterning as a whole group lesson, practice with small groups, and then assess individually. The first page can be displayed on a projector or Smart Board. Teachers/students can click and drag the icons at the bottom into the circles to create various pattern types. The second page can be laminated for use during small groups. Students can use manipulatives, colored rocks, cereal, dry-erase markers, etc. to create patterns. Print a class set and have students demonstrate knowledge by coloring in the circles with crayons, markers, or bingo stampers.
