I designed this test in a way that would help me write report comments easily. Based on students results, you should be able to easily comment how well they achieved the indicators and outcome addressed in this test.
The test is designed for classes where both Year 3 and Year 4 (all Stage 2) are required to take the same test.
Important Note: The NSW Maths Curriculum for Patterns and Algebra does not require students to identify and create equivalent number sentences in Year 3 - that part of the outcome is addressed in Year 4 (if you look carefully at the indicators). Therefore, when testing, if a Year 3 student does well in that part of the test, technically they are working beyond grade level in that concept.
The outcomes and indicators are listed at the top of the test with space for the teacher to colour where the student is at based on not just their score, but from looking at how they answered the questions.
WT = Working Towards
WA = Working At
WB = Working Beyond
