The attached is 150 questions for six children's book by Native American author, Paul Goble. The questions are for books: The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses (GRL - N; #Q - 30), Dream Wolf ,(GRL - M; #Q - 20) Star Boy (GRL - N; #Q - 30) , The Death of the Iron Horse(GRL - N; #Q - 20) , Beyond the Ridge (GRL - N; #Q - 30) , and The Lost Children (GRL - N; #Q - 20). Half of all the questions are "right there" type of questions and the other half of "inferential" type questions. Each book is labeled with its Guided Reading Level (GRL) and the number of questions provided (#Q). These questions would be most useful for mid-upper elementary and middle school aged children. Paul Goble is an excellent storyteller and brings the traditional Native American to life on his pages. The questions have four possible choices with the correct answer highlighted for each. This could be printed out and distributed to your class. Better yet, these questions can be copy and pasted into interactive website activities for classroom games and summative assessment type activities. Kahoot.it.com, Quizlet.com are just a couple of websites that promote active learning and are simple to create games with and use with your class. Pick and choose the questions that work best for your class and current standards being addressed. Or copy and paste them into a PowerPoint presentation to use as a classroom discussion prompts. The possibilities are endless.
