Paul Revere and the Sons of Liberty designed a signal using the Old North Church to alert them that the Patriots' guns and ammunition were about to be confiscated. When the signal was given Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Samuel Prescott rode to rouse the minutemen of the impending battle. The author uses original photographs and rich text to portray Paul Revere's ride, the Battle on Lexington Green, and the Battle at Concord Bridge where the British were defeated and retreated back to Boston. These were the final events that led to the Revolutionary War. These famous battles earned the title of "The Shot Heard Round the World."
