Product Description
Delve into the story of Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride to determine what is Fact and what is Fiction. In this lesson, students learn about the events the night before the first battle of the Revolutionary War, the Battle of Lexington and Concord. The class will begin the activity with a Fact or Fiction strategy by discussing and debating prior knowledge about the Midnight Ride. Pairs will read and answer questions about what really happened the night of April 18-19, 1775 as colonists fled Boston to warn the countryside of the movement of British troops. Students will create an illustrated map that shows the story of the Midnight Ride. Finally, students will write their own poem telling the factual events of the Midnight Ride or create a revised, factual version of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem, Paul Revere’s Ride.

When you purchase this activity, you will receive:
-teacher directions
-warm up activity
-seven page reading of the History of The Midnight Ride
