Small packet that provides maps to illustrate the mechanics and scope of two key innovations from Ancient Rome's Pax Romana period: aqueducts and roads.
First page includes a detailed illustration behind the mechanics of aqueducts and required students to annotate the illustration as well as utilize the illustration and information to describe how an aqueduct brings money from lakes/basins to city centers.
Second and third pages include two maps each - each of which convey the extent to which aqueducts and roads reached within the boundaries of the Roman Empire - and require students to compare and contras the maps, use the maps as evidence to connect aqueducts and roads to the enduring issue of Need for and Impact of Innovation, and to predict how these innovations contributed to the Roman Golden Ages.
