A Power Point Presentation in two parts: the first part dealing with teens deciding what makes a peaceful person in this very dysfunctional world. This is done through cute cartoon pictures. They must learn that standing up for themselves means gaining the strength to stand up for others. Some of the topics are "Define Yourself in Your Own Terms." Like Oscar Wilde says, "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
"Allow Yourself to Grow."
"Don't be Enslaved by the Image of You in the Past." Like Eleanor Roosevelt said, " No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
Bullying stops when we can recognize that oftentimes we bully ourselves. Acceptance of others cannot happen unless we accept ourselves.
The second part deals with true life teen heroes who were abused, but found a healing path where now they are seen as leaders.
There are several slides where the presentation is stopped for questions and discussion.
This has worked well with clubs for anti-bullying as well as in regular classrooms.
