This handout is to used with a Peace Table. I have a peace table in the hallway outside of my classroom. When the children have a fight or a problem, they go out into the hallway and they sit at the peace table to discuss and problem-solve. They go through the steps outlined in this handout to state the problem, describe their feelings, apologize, and suggest a solution. They need help at first but become more independent, depending on their age and ability. I also send this handout home to the parents, so that they are aware of how the children are being encouraged to problem-solve at school. Some of them even create a peace table at home!
