Here is a cute Reader's Theater based on the popular book Peanut Butter & Cupcake! Your children are sure to love practicing this script!
There are roles for nine students. I also incorporated the use of the word "ALL" so that the boys and girls read in unison at times throughout the script. This requires them to follow along at all times, thus hearing/reading/listening even as they are silent themselves.
Character names are included. If you wish to use them, I would copy them onto a durable paper such as cardstock. Then hole-punch at the top and lace with yarn to make a necklace. Staple onto a long skinny piece of construction paper to make a headband.
Reader's Theaters are so much fun! They also are great ways to increase reading and speaking fluency.
After we have finished with a script, I leave them out in the classroom library. The children are always getting them and having their own little Reader's Theaters--resulting in more reading practice! (And having fun as well!)
Thanks so much for checking out this product!
Remember, if you wish to perform this Reader's Theater, you can send a group to the principal, to other teachers, to the school secretary/nurse, to another classroom, to an assembly, or even to parents. There are lots of ways to give your students a chance to perform.
