Thanks for checking out my free product! This is a great packet to use for teaching beginning writers to write sequence narrative paragraphs. I use it with my first graders, but it could be used with kindergarteners or second graders as well.
I copy each page on one side of the paper only. This makes it easier for my students to put the papers side by side to copy their complete sentences onto the second page. As we go over each criterion in the Proofreading Checklist, I have my students make tally marks on the lines for each error or put a checkmark in the box if there are no errors for that criterion. This way, they have a record of each type of error and can correct it independently. I have also used the Proofreading Checklist to have students peer edit and as a rubric when I grade their final drafts. I often reprint only the last page for my students' successive drafts.
I hope you find this product useful. If so, check out my Beginning Sequence Paragraph Packet - it has four different paragraph packs to use as you gradually release responsibility to your students. Also, see my Middle Sequence Paragraph Packet and Expert Sequence Paragraph Packet to continue challenging your writers. Enjoy!
