Shared Writing-Provides a model for your children to observe and be actively engaged in the writing process.
CCSS W.1.8 With guidance and support from adults, recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer question.

Building Background- Children use background knowledge in their writing to help bring meaning to the story.

Write About It-
CCSS W.1.2 Write informative/explanatory texts in which they name a topic, supply some facts about the topic, and provide some sense of closure.

Story Review- Children are encouraged to look back in the text to search for an answer.
CCSS RL.1.1 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text.

Think About It-
CCSS W.1.1 Write opinion pieces, in which they introduce the topic or name the book their writing about, state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion and provide some sense of closure.
