This lesson plan is a FULLY scripted lesson on an introduction to the properties of clay. It includes the learning targets and step-by-step instructions for the actual lesson.
By observing clay in solid form and then in the vials of water, students will be able to see the difference between many clay particles molded together and individual particles of clay, which are very small. This will further their understanding that rocks can be broken apart and changed in size by natural forces.
This lesson plan works directly with the Pebbles, Sand, and Silt FOSS kit.
