Students will really begin to understand what revision means by using these procedures to facilitate their peer conferences about their writing.
The attached file includes student procedures for peer writing conferences, a feedback form for recording ideas for revision, and a teacher lesson plan.
In my experience using these procedures over the past 3-4 years, students have really come to understand what revision is and how it is different than editing. It takes repeated practice, but this is a great way for students to do quality revision to their writing pieces.
This activity can be used with any genre of writing!
