This is a checklist that students can use to revise an expository essay. My students enjoy this because they get to work with a peer, and two brains are always better than one! I usually partner students up with a buddy, have them read each others essays, and critique them for revision using this chart. This has helped my students self-assess their writing and to get in the habit of reading their work before they try to turn it in. This contains the same wording I use when I create a rubric to grade the essay, so students are very clear on my expectations. From CC-teach-a-lot.
