This worksheet walks students through the process of peer revising with a partner. This worksheet was set up to be used in a partnership of 2; where the partners would be working on revising ONE paper together. It takes them step by step through the organization and expectations of every portion of the paper as outlined by the teacher (I also have a PowerPoint that follows the exact formatting of this peer revision as well on my TPT page). Once finished they brought the paper to me, I checked it, and then handed them another paper to revise. This process was done until all papers were checked twice. Below is a more in-depeth explanation of this process.
Any time I used this peer revision for the first time I ALWAYS modeled how to use it with a paper I knew would have a few errors, so I could demonstrate how to leave a comment and also be able to put a few smiley faces, so the students could see what a peer revision was supposed to look like if done adequately. In addition to modeling, I was in full control of the peer revision at all times. I assigned the partners, I handed out the paper to the pairs (so they were not reviewing their own papers), I doubled checked their peer revision, and I checked off papers that were peer reviewed and handed a new paper to the pair. I required all papers to be reviewed twice, and all revision sheets were stapled to the back of the sheet by me.
