In this bundle, there are 3 resources:
1) The Story Writing Peer Assessment Booklet - a colourful 23 page book which readers use to record their evaluations before feeding back to the writer.
2) The Story Writing Peer Assessment Process PowerPoint - which can be used by the teacher to guide students through the booklet.
3) A handy 4 page summary of the process - to be printed, double sided onto A3 for future evaluations once students have become accustomed to the process. Ideal to use as a cover folder for story pages.
The Peer Assessment Process is for young writers. The aim is to encourage them to assess each other's story writing by asking them 16 simple questions.
Each question has a YES/NO structure, and all the reader has to do is circle the relevant answer. Each YES response is followed by an uplifting, positive comment; each NO, by a brief writing target.
Once the reader has assessed the writing, the writer then uses the NO comments to create a set of 5 writing targets, and then reflects on ways to reach those targets.
An simple assessment for learning/ formative assessment tool for students aged 9 to 11.
