I am so excited to use this in my classroom this year. There is already an alphabet with pictures displayed in my room (check out my Environmental Print Alphabet Freebie), but I needed some letters to go above my word wall words. I really wanted a fun word wall that was primary grade friendly and was made with a font that matches the way we teach our kids to form letters. I also wanted vowels and consonants to be different colors so it's easy for students to differentiate between them.
This download includes the following:
- The letters in "WORD WALL" on either green or purple pencils to use as a banner above your word wall.
- Uppercase and lowercase letters Aa-Zz (consonants are on a yellow pencil and vowels are on a blue pencil).
- Separate Xx, Yy, and Zz headers or combined XxYyZz option for less common words.
HINT: I shrunk the letters down to about 90% before I printed them because they were just a tad larger than I wanted them to be. Play around with whatever size works for your classroom!
I printed these on card stock and laminated them for durability. (Who wants to remake these things every year? Not me!) :)
