A bright colored set of pencils and sharpeners to study plural nouns and the endings of verbs in Present Simple.
We always try to turn boring grammar learning into a fun activity. So plural nouns and changing the endings of verbs in the Present Simple we study with the help of splendid colourful pencils and sharpeners corresponding to them.
☛ The feature of this activity is that children need not only to choose the appropriate sharpener/pen cap, but also to "sharpen"/cover the pencil/pen to a certain letter.
The involvement of motor skills increases the efficiency of memorizing the rules.
The process itself allows you to clearly see how the endings/irregular nouns change.
Besides, you can type any words, creating pairs from other topics, such as comparative adjectives or opposites etc.
How to use:
- First of all, you can sort out several pencils by cups or pockets beforehand and suggest students to make a conclusion themselves, based on how the endings change depending on the verb;
- Having dealt with the grammar, scatter a bunch of pencils and sharpeners on the table or floor and ask children to "sharpen" them according to the rules (use a stationery knife to make slots for pencils in the sharpeners). Believe me they'll be absorbed in the process. Proved!
- Races! Active version for young learners: divide the children into 2 teams, deal the same number of pencils (or sharpeners) between them, spread out the sharpeners (or pencils) on the other side of the room. The first team to run and sharpen the pencils correctly and faster than others, wins!
- work out the vocabulary with the help of irregular plural bundle and find the corresponding cap for every pen.
