Penguin Phonology: Build an Iceberg Scene is a fun winter/arctic animal themed activity that can be used at the table, or in a more interactive form to get your kids away from the table and moving around a little bit while practicing their phonological targets! It contains 260 stimulus pictures on penguin bellies, as well as blank penguin cards to use with any target.
This product is also included in the money-saving Winter Phonology Bundle: Penguin, Snowman, and Christmas Tree Scenes.
You do not need to purchase this individual product if you already own the bundle.
HOW TO USE:
Place the iceberg scene on a large table, or tape/putty to a wall or back of the door. Give your students a penguin with their target sound. Or, give them a blank penguin and tell them their target word. Have them practice the word 5x before putting the penguin on an iceberg. Continue until your scene is full!
This is a great activity to incorporate some movement for your students. By hanging the iceberg scene on the back of the door or on the wall, your students can walk over to the scene and attach their penguin, rather than sitting for the duration of the session. Alternatively, after they practice their word, give them a specific movement to do (ie waddle to the icebergs, fly to the icebergs, etc…) in order to attach their penguin. There are lots of possibilities!

I created these sets of phonology materials to allow for flexibility in meeting the needs of your space and your students.
Many kids learn best when movement is incorporated into their learning, whether it be with the actual activity or with movement breaks. These activities allow you to easily incorporate movement into your therapy sessions to prevent your students from becoming restless and to better meet their needs and learning styles. However, space to move around may not always be a luxury you have (we've all been in less-than-ideal spaces!), so this download also works as a tabletop activity, as well.
