This set includes preposition cards for two game activities. They are meant to be used for Cariboo game or DIY Secret Square type activity and a Musical Chairs table activity for Pr-K, Kindergarten, or special needs class.
The activities provide opportunities to work with sequencing and directional concept vocabulary. Directions are provided on how to make and set up both games.
The vocabulary words targeted are first, last, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, before, after, last, middle, right, left, infront, beside, into, over, and between. The words are presented to the students through the cards and demonstrated before the activities.
For the musical chairs type activity, students are divided into groups of 6 to 7 students around a table. A set of cards is placed at each table. Music is played as in a game of musical chairs with the students rotating around the table. When the music stops, students take the card in front of them and find their spot in a line in relation to the middle.
The 2nd activity consists of preposition squares that can fit into the doors of a Cariboo game. If you don’t have one don’t fret. You can make a similar game using the lids from fruit juice containers.
