Students work individually or in groups to build sums to 20 and differences from 20.
Students use the polar bears to build different sums on the thinking mat. Count out the bears and place the symbols between the bears.
Draw thinking on the recording sheet.
Build the number sentence using the polar bear numbers and write the number sentence to go with the picture.
