This is an easy hands-on LAB to show that Chemical Changes are all around us! Students fill beakers or baby food jars with four liquids and test the observable changes of a PENNY --placed inside. I use this as an all-week LAB for Physical vs Chemical CHANGES in Matter, and it is part of my new, 5E's+way more UNIT! It could easily be used as a Properties of Metals LAB, too! It's all about OXIDATION! I have included my GraphiQ MAP which helps students identify EVIDENCE of both Physical and Chemical CHANGES using acronyms for the EVIDENCE types. It transforms into an Interactive Word WALL easily by drawing on a chart or running through a poster maker and attaching word cards with sticky-tack.(large cards for IWW in my new 5E UNIT) I included several other items which I usually test on my table as well, so that the kids see a variety of OXIDATION types--rust, tarnish, verdigras . . . oh my! I wrote up a quick explanation of how to use and test more than one Independent Variable, as most have been taught that they can have only one! This page shows then that they can use multiple I.V.s but must account for them properly, which can get rather large, quickly. Use this as an addendum to your Scientific Method Lessons, as they rarely learn this, but should!!
I hope this helps you to ROCK the Science in your CLASSROOM! I am including the GraphiQ MAP and my GRADING RUBRIC FREE, so that maybe you'll see the time and care that I put into my products and especially my Units and SuperSETs, and will consider allowing me to create and plan your UNITS! I am busily "pretty-ing up" and getting my documents and files ready for sale, mostly from my past 9 years in 6th Science (20 years total), so please check back for new things, or simply follow me for automatic emails when I post something new!

It's only happened 2-3 times, and I fixed them immediately,, but it worries me:( I really try to make every one of my products perfect, but I must admit my imperfection.
