This product is intended for use with google classroom or 1:1 laptops, but can easily be modified for use without these tools. I usually have a link to the reading on the document so it isn't handed out separately or doesn't take up space in the students' document.
This is the good old water drops on a penny lab, but modified to follow the NGSS standards. This is a perfect lesson to utilize with the students at the beginning of the year to teach the basics of NGSS.
I have my students work in pairs. They will need a dropper (pipet), penny, and water. For the experimentation phase, they will need soap, different coins (dimes, nickels, quarters), and heated water.
If you have never done this experiment, you might want to view the following youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O8PuMkiimg.
