Product Description
This game mat was created to go along with the Penny-Nickel-Dime Exchange game in Everyday Math, Unit 3 for 1st Grade.
This is a great game to have kids play in order to learn equal value of coins. Directions are printed on the game mat for those that do not use EDM,
Directions: each partner group receives 2 game mats, a die, and a bag of: 20 pennies, 10 nickels and 10 dimes. Students take turns rolling the die and collecting that number of pennies from the bag. Students lay their pennies on the mat. When they have collected 5 pennies they can make an exchange for a nickel. When students collect 2 nickels, they can exchange for a dime to keep in their piggy bank. The game ends when there are no more dimes in the bag. Student with the most dimes wins.
