You're probably more familiar with Mike Thaler's more popular" The_____ From the Black Lagoon" book series. His stories are funny, engaging, and have a distinct message.
Students will learn how to be responsible for one's school belongings and be responsible for the environment. They will learn how to work together for a common cause and to "give back" to society by helping others. They will learn where pencils come from, how they are made, and the various jobs/workers involved in the pencil production process.
Students can "see" what it's like to be a pencil from the perspective of "Penny Pencil", a personification of a pencil. Research has been done for you...lots of resources, links, and info included in this product, ready to be printed out.
