People of the Civil War Vocabulary Sorting Activity
This vocabulary word interactive sort is just what you need if you teach fifth grade social studies and have a unit on the Civil War. This interactive sort asks students to sort between key words when discussing the People of the Civil War. Make sure that your students are able to tell the difference between some of the key terms and vocabulary involved in this important unit. This would be a perfect assessment or interactive notebook activity after teaching about the People of the Civil War. I've included a vocabulary foldable for students to use as you teach what the key terms means for use in interactive notebooks. Students are asked to cut out each sentence and decide whether it fits with the vocabulary words listed below:
Robert E. Lee
William "Tecumseh" Sherman
Ulysses S. Grant
Harriet Beecher Stowe
Students then glue under the correct heading on the included sheet OR paste into a social studies interactive journal. An answer key is included for easy grading.
