Goal: For students to practice finding percent change in using real world examples from the real world including sales tax, commission, mark up , discount and tip.
Instructions: Provide students the “Glue on this page sheet”, “Cut these out” page and the question page. Have students work through each problem with a partner. Once they get an answer, they need to match it with the answer and the letter at the bottom. They need to glue to corresponding problem number to the correct letter square on the glue sheet.
1. You buy a car for 20,000 dollars and pay 5 % in tax. How much will you pay total?
Answer: H 21,000
The students will cut out the puzzle piece that has a “1” on it and glue it on the rectangle with the letter “H” on it.
