The purpose of this game is to practice solving problems in percentages in a fun and interactive way. This game is simple to implement and takes very little preparation time. This game is also a more challenging version of the "Chain Reaction Beginner Level". It involves asking students to solve for the missing information (percent, whole, or part) when given the other two pieces of the information.
Students will receive a set of cards (pg. 3) and a game board (pg. 4). The teacher will then select the starting card and everyone will put it on the first box in the board. Then, the students will solve the question on that first card and use their answer (number inside the green box) to select the second card. Then they will solve the question on the second card to get to the third card and so on. Each time they solve one problem, they will be able to figure out the sequence for the next card.Students will have finished the game when they correctly placed all the cards in the correct order. This game can be played in groups of 2-4.
The problems in this game are aligned to common core standards CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.RP.A.3.C and CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.7.RP.A.3.
