Need a FUN, ENGAGING, RIGOROUS, and RELEVANT activity to practice changing a fraction into a decimal and then into a percent??? Look no further then PERCENT TO WIN IT! Students will have a blast with 6 different stations that have "minute to win it" type games that have students converting their outcomes into percents!
This download comes with a paper version as well as a GOOGLE SLIDES version! The Google Slides version has everything the paper version has but it is digital! No copies or print materials needed! Plus the Google version has embedded timers for even easier set up!
Here is the Teacher Prep for the Stations!
Station 1 Prep- Set up a trash can and put a line on the floor a good distance from the trash can. Make 10 balls of paper. Display the Station 1 Instruction sheet.
Station 2 Prep: You will need a set of chopsticks, two bowls, and 50 cotton balls. You will also need some sort of a timer or stop watch. Display the Station 2 Instruction sheet. (Online version has an embedded timer!)
Station 3 Prep- You will need two dice. You can use four dice so that two people can roll at the same time. You can also put the dice in a little container to prevent dice from rolling all over the place. Display the Station 3 Instruction sheet.
Station 4 Prep- Craft Sticks- You will probably want a craft stick per student to prevent the spread of germs, since it is in their mouth. You will also need 8 dice. You will also need some sort of a timer or stop watch. Display the Station 4 Instruction sheet. (Online version has an embedded timer!)
Station 5 Prep- You will need 25 cups, doesn’t matter what type, plastic or Styrofoam. You will also need some sort of a timer or stop watch. Display the Station 5 Instruction sheet. (Online version has an embedded timer!)
Station 6 Prep- You will need 15 cups, doesn’t matter what type, plastic or Styrofoam. You will need some rubber bands as well. You will also need some sort of a timer or stop watch. Display the Station 6 Instruction sheet. You may want to warn the students to not shoot anyone with the rubber bands. (Online version has an embedded timer!)
You will want to make copies of the recording sheet for each student. I have made whole page recording sheets or I have condensed the sheets to make copying easier and save paper. Both options are available to you! Or you can do without the paper entirely and share it via Google!
