Q: What is the most difficult thing for students to understand about solving word problems involving percents?
A: I always think it is getting them to understand that the percentage and rate must agree.

This color by number includes nine challenging word problems in Spanish. Students must read carefully to determine how to solve each problem. For example, they may be given the sale price of an item and the percent of discount and be asked to find the original price. This requires them to adjust the percent by subtracting it from 100%.
An answer key using both proportions and equations is included.
