By setting up a scenario of having your students create new price tags for an upcoming sale, students see patterns in percents. For example, the Frozen Land store is having a sale, as an employer you need to create new price tags, the boss says to start with 1% first. The seven "think"sheets (not worksheets) guide your students through each of the scenarios: 1%, 5%, 10%, 25%, and 75%. There is also a blank sheet for your early finishers (or anybody) to create their own store name and sale prices.
How can I use this product?
Just print and copy a set for each student to have them work through the sheets on their own or in a small group setting. We first talk about the patterns of finding 10% or 1%. Knowing these as well as 50%, your students can figure out the others. I show them how to use a calculator to check their answers. But there is a full Answer Key.
What is included?
The 16 page PDF file contains:
• Cover page/notes/copyright info (2 pages)
• Teacher Notes
• 6 pages of progressive scenarios (1%, 5%, 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%)

• 1 blank sheet for them to create their own store name, sale items, sale percent, and new prices
