Rhythm and melody go together like..... milk and cookies! Or salt and pepper! And with these fun and engaging interactive games your students will see how they compliment each other. They'll begin by picking a pairing. From there they'll read the rhythm of the first item of the pairing. Then they'll read the melody of the second item, from the staff without rhythm attached. Finally, they'll put the pairs together to read the rhythm and melody from the staff. This scaffolding breaks down the melodic reading into a step by step process that helps teach students how to isolate and work on melodic and rhythmic patterns that will carry over into independent work in either vocal or instrumental practice.
