This is a fun project to review volume, surface area, and ratios. The students will work in teams to create a piñata for a customer. However, the customer has very specific requests each team must follow. The piñata design must be comprised of pyramids and prisms and must have a volume between 100 and 150 inches cubed, and the final design must have specific color ratios. Give your students the opportunity to collaborate, have fun, and make meaning of important foundational level math standards!
