Here are seven original poems perfect for Halloween, October and fall each with corresponding language arts task cards. Just print and teach! Students love 'em!
You get two versions of the poems: full color and black and white. Read aloud, use for shared reading and/or make copies for students' poetry rereading fluency folders! Use them for your Halloween party or for poetry centers. The task cards are set up for self-checking and also have two versions. One version asks students to locate something (like the adjectives) in the poem and place a treat there (perfect for Halloween parties). The second version asks students to WRITE the words rather than placing treats on the page.
These poems are sure to delight your students, just as they have mine! Here are the included titles with the task card focus:
October Fun -- adjectives
Scary Bat -- nouns
Witchy and Me -- syllables
Jack-o-lanterns -- verbs
Halloween Costumes -- write a complete sentence in response
Winter's On It's Way -- rhyming words
Fall Leaves -- write your own Fall Leaves poem following the model
