Science back to school SI Units and Conversion Tables perfect for Jr. High & High School Interactive Notebooks!
I’ve found this to be an ideal resource for the first few pages of my student’s interactive notebooks! I notice my science students referring back to this useful resource throughout the year whenever they need a refresher on conversions, units, or unit symbols.
- 3 tables: Common SI Units, Metric Conversion Tables, and a Temperature Conversion Guide
HOW I’VE USED THE LESSON IN MY CLASSROOM
I use these charts as practice for correctly adding entries to interactive notebooks, I also use them to emphasize the proper units, conversions, and symbols to use in my science classroom and lab.
Approximately one half to one class period in length (as a point of reference, I teach a 50-minute class). I generally have my students first read over the charts to become familiar with them. Then we cut out the charts and paste them in their interactive notebooks, this gives me the opportunity to discuss classroom rules regarding cutting, pasting, and my expectation on keeping the classroom and lab clean and free from the bits of paper that are left over from a cut and paste activity. As a wrap up, I typically make up a few conversion questions that we complete together as a class. We generally add the tables to their interactive notebooks and do a few practice questions in one class period. Created by Mister Science.
