This performance task includes detailed directions, graphic organizers, research methods, a script template, and rubric. Students can work over several class periods to create an abolitionist editorial sharing their opinion of how inequality affected enslaved people in the United States. Students may use a variety of primary and secondary sources to research this idea in order to create a claim for their task. Students also have the opportunity to create text features (maps, timelines, etc) to enhance their editorial.
