Practice finding perimeter and area of rectangles using this set of posters and task cards that can be used in many ways. The posters review different methods for calculating perimeter and area. Mini versions of the posters can be glued into students' math notebooks for easy reference. There are two sets of task cards--one uses square units and one uses the dimensions, and four different answer sheets, which allows you to differentiate based on students' needs. For example, some students may practice finding area, while others may practice writing equations to represent the perimeter of each rectangle.

Task Card Contents:

• Area Posters (3 Methods)

• Perimeter Posters (4 Methods)

• Task Card Set #1—20 Task Cards With Square Units

• Task Card Set #2—20 Task Cards With Length & Width

• Student Answer Pages—Area, Area Equation, Perimeter, Perimeter Equation

• Answer Keys {There are 3 different answer keys for perimeter equations as students may apply different formulas.}

This set is perfect for third and fourth graders who have learned basic perimeter and area concepts. It could also be used as enrichment for advanced second graders or intervention for late fourth or fifth graders who have not yet mastered these concepts.

Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
Multiply side lengths to find areas of rectangles with whole-number side lengths in the context of solving real world and mathematical problems, and represent whole-number products as rectangular areas in mathematical reasoning.
Find the area of a rectangle with whole-number side lengths by tiling it, and show that the area is the same as would be found by multiplying the side lengths.
Relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.
Measure areas by counting unit squares (square cm, square m, square in, square ft, and improvised units).
