Students will construct their own yard on graph paper. They will include three things: fence, swimming pool, and garden. They will use their own yard to calculate perimeter, area, and volume. They will then take the advertisement provided to calculate the cost for each other these items as well as a total cost to construct the entire yard. This applies their knowledge of perimeter, area, and volume in a real-world context.
Includes a full lesson plan, including differentiation and culturally relevant pedagogy, as well as the worksheet template and advertisement.
