There are two stations in this file. They are aligned to Common Core Standards 4.OA.1 and 4.MD.3. I used these stations with NYS Math Module 3, which is about multiplication and division with multi-digit numbers. These could be used in other grades as well to increase fluency, challenge students in younger grade, or to help students who struggle in higher grades.
The first station is a station where the students need to figure out either the area or perimeter of rectangles using formulas. The length and width are given on each card and students are told which to find (area or perimeter). There are 36 cards.
In the second station, students need to solve area and perimeter word problems. Some of the cards provide students with the length and width of a rectangle, while others tell students the length but they need to determine the width. For example: the width is 5 times the length. There are other cards within this station that have stars on them. These are to be used after two-digit by two-digit multiplication has been taught to further challenge students and make these stations applicable throughout the year. I have also included a set of "harder" cards that will require the higher level students to think more in order to solve them. There are 54 regular cards and 18 challenge cards.
I handwrite the answers on the back so that they can self-check.
Directions are included for both centers.
