This resource includes 28 task cards that focus on using area and perimeter in real life situations. Problem solving, division, and subtraction are other skills students practice when completing these multi-step questions. This set will challenge students and help them become more proficient when asked to solve problems that cannot be answered by only completing one step. Students may work independently, in pairs, or in groups to solve the task cards. Also, they would work well in a math center.
Common Core Standard:
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
This resource includes:
• 28 multi-step task cards
• Recording Sheet
