This activity allows students to practice answering tricky versions of perimeter and area questions that they may face on standardized tests. The goal of this activity is for students to experience a variety of ways that tests can ask questions about perimeter and area to help them learn how to transfer learned strategies to unfamiliar situations (something that many students struggle with). Questions include finding a second rectangle with an equivalent area, determining the length of the side of a shape given the perimeter, understanding the equation that is used for finding perimeter, etc. Perfect practice before taking the test!
