Want a fun way to partner up your students for the day and review the Periodic Table at the same time? You'll love this product!!
Just print out the cards, cut and laminate (optional). Pass out the cards or have students take a card as you greet them at the start of class. With the use of a Periodic Table, students will quickly start looking for their partner who has an element with a certain characteristic (detailed on their card).
26 cards are included, but if you have a smaller class, you can just remove the number of partner cards you don't need. Two blank cards are included so you can make more partnerings, if needed.
For this partnering activity to be successful, students need to have prior knowledge of the following:
*location of metals, metalloids, and non-metals
*periodic table "oddballs" (hydrogen located with metals, but classified as a non-metal based on it's properties, aluminum located with metalloids, but classified as a metal)
*most reactive metals on the periodic table (Group 1)
*most reactive non-metals on the periodic table (Group 17)
*non-reactive (inert) elements on the periodic table (Noble Gases)
*how to calculate neutrons
*energy levels or shells (determined by the period #)
*Lanthanide & Actinide series
