Students work in pairs.
They choose an element or group of elements (ship) somewhere on the Periodic Table (battle field) then try to find their opponents ship/element before theirs is found by asking questions and guessing elements.
Choose different element characteristics to play such as:
atomic number or mass
# of protons, neutrons & electrons
Download includes 2 Periodic Tables (player & opponent) and teacher directions.
Materials needed: binder clips or paper clips, file folders, markers (bingo chips, candy, etc.)
Extension activity - have students color the periodic table with the characteristics and trends before playing. Or laminate and use dry erase markers.
