This is a great way for students to review the periodic table of elements. Students spend time playing the classic childhood game Battleship using the Periodic Table of Elements as their game board. They practice the name, atomic number and location of the elements as they both build their own "battleships" and try to sink their opponents'. This game works well as a one off lesson or a time filler for the entire school year. I first gave my students this game to play during our unit on the periodic table. They enjoyed it so much that they asked to keep them in their desk to play during their free time through out the school year.
