Periodic Table Pennant
This is a great collaborative activity for students to review finding, interpreting, and utilizing information on the periodic table. Students will find their element on the periodic table, fill in its atomic number, name, and atomic mass. Using that information students will also determine the number of electrons, protons, and neutrons for an atom of their element. Students will also identify the group number, group name (not all will have one) and the period number. You could also have students identify the state of matter their element is at room temperature and whether it is a metal, metalloid, or non-metal in the corner of the box or color coding.
Once completed, the banners can be used as a classroom banner, a hall display, bulletin board, or anywhere else! Students love to color and have their work on display!
